CITY RAIL LINK

A visual system designed to reduce confusion around CRL service changes.

This project focused on improving public understanding of the new City Rail Link and how the upcoming station openings would change people’s travel routines. Research showed that many Aucklanders felt confused or negative about CRL because communication emphasised infrastructure instead of explaining user benefits.

Our goal was to shift that perception by communicating CRL’s improvements more clearly and giving people the information they needed to transition smoothly into the new network.

I led the visual communication side, creating posters, diagrams, icons, and layout systems that simplified complex route information into easy to understand visuals. The final work provides a clear explanation of how CRL will improve travel and what passengers can expect once the system goes live.
